The plant was my grandmother's and I seem to
remember her saying it was given to her in the 1940s. I personally know
of the plant's existence for at least 40 years.
I have never seen another blossom with the striped
markings. Some of the flowers are solid pink, others are solid white,
and some as striped in various designs.

It was probably planted 50 years ago on Dog River in Mobile AL. It blooms mid-season/late and has very large blooms which are very upright in the center. This photo was taken in Jan 2005 Bloom # 102
